Funeral and Memorial Services are a celebration, remembrance and tribute to the life of the deceased. Services may be set up in our chapels, outdoors, at a church or other location. Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapels can also ships in or ships out human remains to or from other states.

How you choose to care for the deceased is always up to you. We understand that every family is different and we honor all choices. All costs are disclosed in writing and you may choose only those services (except those that are required by law) that you deem appropriate.

We offer a full range of funeral services- from traditional funerals and cremations to Veteran's services and memorial services. You also have the option of a direct burial or cremation with no service. At Colonial Chapels- it is always up to you.

Born and raised in Mason City, Dave is a graduate of Mason City High School, NIACC, and the University of Minnesota. While in high school, Dave began working for Chuck Hogan and Al Bremer. A licensed funeral director in Iowa and Minnesota, he returned to Mason City and began his career with Hogan-Bremer. In 2001 he purchased the firm which then became Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapels. His wife, Jamey (Scheuerman) Moore is a native of Iowa City and a graduate of Iowa City West High School and Iowa State University. She is a interior designer, specializing in kitchen design. Dave and Jamey have two children, Grace and Will, who attend Newman Catholic schools.

I am an Iowa native having graduated from Emmetsburg High School in 1970. I am an Army veteran that was stationed with the 25th Infantry Division in Viet Nam. After graduating from mortuary school, Gary began his career in funeral service with DW Newcomers Son Funeral Homes in Kansas City, MO, and worked with them for five years, and has been associated with Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapels since January 1990. Gary and his wife, June, live in Northwood, where she is employed with the Lutheran Retirement Home. They have three children; Jennifer and her husband Rusty Wahl of Northwood, Justin Nerlien who was stationed with the lst Marine Division and did 3rd tour of duty in Iraq, and is now attending University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, and Adam Nerlien who was stationed with the 82nd Airborne Division in North Carolina and did tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq. Adam is now a deputy sheriff with the Wright County Sheriffs department in Clarion, Iowa. Adam is married to Brooke Bachtle of Northwood and on September 11, 2009, their little girl Harper was born. Gary and June have four grandchildren; Nichole, Abby, Cody, and Harper.

Jennifer grew up in Eagle Grove, Iowa and graduated from Eagle Grove High School and Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa. While attending I.C.C.C she worked for Bruce's Funeral Home in Fort Dodge. She is a graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is now living in Mason City. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church and Sunrise Rotary.

A Mason City native, Amy is a graduate of Mason City Newman Catholic School, NIACC, and the University of Iowa. Amy was in nursing for fourteen years. Her husband, Randy is employed by Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa and specializes in computers. Amy and Randy have three children, Emma, Sarah, and Evan, who attend Newman Catholic schools.

Denni Sue (Iles) Erickson, a Wintertime native of Des Moines, graduated from Roosevelt High School and Drake University and is a summertime native of Clear Lake. She moved to Clear Lake permanently in 1984. Her brother Chuck Iles is a funeral director in Des Moines and encouraged her to work with Hogan-Bremer Moore and Ward-Van Slyke. She joined the group January of 1995. Together, she and her husband, Tom Erickson, have two grown children: Andrea Tisor and her husband Brian, and Brandon Conway and his wife Kerri who have given the first grandchild- Mitchel!
