In 1954, a young gentleman by the name of Robert Oppold came to Waterloo and purchased Ray Hurley Funeral Home. Mr. Oppold purchased the old Knights of Columbus Hall and remodeled it into a funeral home at 400 South Street, renaming it the Oppold Funeral

Our funeral home is a family owned and operated business. We are large enough to give our families the same service as the largest funeral homes around, yet we are small enough that each family gets the level of attention and care they deserve.

In 1928 Carroll P. Locke came to Waterloo where he worked for other funeral homes. In 1946 he and his wife Margaret purchased Petersen Brothers Funeral Home and renamed it Locke Funeral Home. Both devoted their time and energy to the funeral home until th
